The short answer

eMedicalPractice (eMedPractice LLC, not to be confused with eMDs, now CGM Aprima) publishes a certified FHIR R4 API with online app registration. Patient apps are approved quickly; system-level and bulk access gets a manual review. Most resources are read-only, and scheduling isn't exposed.

How access works

  1. Create a developer account and register your app online, declaring usage and accepting the API terms.
  2. eMedicalPractice approves the app and issues a practice code used in your endpoint URLs.
  3. System and bulk scopes need manual approval, and can require a business justification, data-flow diagram and security documentation.
  4. Practices can require manual approval for every app.

Our take

Good for reading the chart and filing documents. For booking, plan the alternative from day one: a vendor conversation or a practice-authorized route that respects eMedicalPractice's terms.
