EZDERM API integration guide: a closed API opening to preferred partners
- Access model
- Closed; preferred partners only
- Developer program
- None public (preferred partner API)
- Certified FHIR access
- No public FHIR documentation found
- Scheduling write
- Not published
The short answer
EZDERM, the dermatology-focused EHR, has no public developer program. Its FAQ describes a closed API. In March 2026 it announced it's opening that API to preferred technology partners, starting with Medsender for fax and referral routing, as a first step toward a broader open API.
The flavors to tell apart
EZDERM is one all-in-one platform: the EHR (iPad-first, also usable on desktop), practice management and billing, plus Ezportal (patient portal), Ezlink (digital intake), Ezcheck-in and Ezpay. Its certified builds include EZDERM 3.0 and 4.0.
How access works
- There's no self-serve path. Partner inquiries go to EZDERM directly.
- Preferred partners only, invited by EZDERM. Medsender was first, for beta customers.
- Certified data access. EZDERM's ONC materials cover application-access criteria and C-CDA export. We found no public FHIR documentation.
What the APIs cover
| Job | Path on EZDERM |
|---|---|
| Patient data export | Certified application access and C-CDA (per EZDERM's certification materials) |
| Partner integration | Closed partner API, by invitation |
| Scheduling and write-back | Not published |
Our take
EZDERM is a closed door with a crack in it. If dermatology is your market, talk to EZDERM about its partner program now, while it's choosing partners. Until then, the realistic options are certified data export or an automation the practice authorizes, under the practice's own user and within EZDERM's terms.
